On exiting Beckton Park station I wandered along a somewhat forlorn empty road bordering playing fields separated by a line of trees which formed a somewhat inaccessable litter strewn barrier. Busting for a piss as usual I was tempted to utilise the trees but demurred as I felt a little ill at ease. Bravely I continued until I found a path into the park and strolled accross a football pitch towards a sign post displaying directions to Newham City Farm and various other destinations.
Whilst I wanted to look at the City Farm I decided to follow the path in the direction of a hill I had spied from the train as I like a hill if for no other other reason.
After the sign post I walked in a north easterly direction that took me through a very pretty area of rolling hills criss crossed with electricity pylons (artisticly portrayed in the shot on the previous page; prententious moi?) The path forms a part of the Green Way a path through East London which follows the line of an old sewer embankment. From the path I saw the pond pictured above which I did not explore as by now I was running low on that illusive thing called time.
