The above pics are more or less in order and follow a stroll from Three Bridges to Brentford Lock.
From top Left we have...
1)Towards Three Bridges.
2)Regional Secure Unit (womens I think)? As seen from meadow adjacent to ye olde canal. Behind the modern structures of the RSU you can see a part of the old asylum, the central structure from which the wings fan out from, this part of a building has a name which I can't remember, Rotunda? Na! ??
3)Victorian bridge for the purpose of the horses switching banks to tow their barges (there is name for these bridges but it escapes me)?
4) Closeup of bridge.
5)Shot of industrial, gravely, wastey site from atop bridge.
6)Reeds and rushes.
7)Interior of derelict canalside warehouse which the tow path passes through (which I can't believe will remain much longer, prime location blah blah blah)!
8)Goods train passing by as seen through an arty hole in the aforementioned derelict warehouse.
9)Ramshackle former dwelling of a mysterious Dutchman (I think)? who resided on this island for years. I once chatted to him when I saw him ice skating on the frozen canal many years ago. I don't know what became of him?
11)Canal view from Brentford lock.
12)Old lock house at Brentford.
