Canal To Brentford

I often do the trip along the canal from Hanwell to Brentford and back either going to work or visiting my babe in Isleworth .
The journey is pretty cool as you pass all sorts of scenery including meadows, wetland and woodland at the Northern (Hanwell) end and the magnificent Glaxo buiding as seen above and the old warehouses in the foreground as you get near Brentford. Further down past Brentford lock the canal enters the River Thames.

If you want to get to this stretch of canal from the Brentford end get a bus from Hounslow a 237 for example or Gunnersbury Station 237 or 267 to name but two and get off the bus near the Holiday Inn on the London Road A315 at the end/start of Brentford High street (depending on which direction you are coming from) and the canal is there. Or go to Brentford overground station from Waterloo and ask someone.
Alternatively from the Hanwell end bus 207/607 amongst others from Ealing or Southall get off by Hanwell Clock Tower on the Uxbridge Road A4020 and head West until you see the Viaduct and Viaduct pub and again you are there. Head South for Brentford. Alternatively Hanwell overground on Paddington Line and ask or you will get lost.
