Dalston Curve 5

DC gargoyle

The Curve occupies a very small area, probably less than an acre but I find it hard to stop writing about it, as it is so full of beauty and imagination. I believe the garden was set up on waste land by community activists in tandem with the council who jointly lease the site from Sainsbury's, the landlords, correct me if I am wrong? The land was seen languishing and brought to life several years ago in its present form and offers sanctuary from the busy urban hubub outside. When I visited i saw family's at play, individuals at chill and a group of young children taking an art class in a conservatory type structure on site. There were raised flower beds, and plants growing all over the show in all sorts of containers there are gargoyles and all sorts of other art; wonderful!
