Highgate Cemetery 3

Highgate Dandelions

Highgate Cemetery opened in 1839 and was one of several new mega graveyards built to accomodate the spiralling population of Victorian London, others included Nunhead and Kensal Green.
There are 170,000 people buried in West and East Highgate in 50,000 + graves. People are still buried here although to do so costs a few bob so new additions include the likes of Beryl Bainbridge the author and Lucien Freud the artist.
