Along with grave of Beryl Bainbridge, a picture of which i have to retrieve from my phone; as being a true pro my camera battery packed up before I reached it, the tomb of Thomas Sayers, bare knuckle boxer is my fave.
I knew a little about sayers previously after seeing a blue plaque comemorating his former residence in Camden Town. 100,000 people watched his funeral cortege en route to Highgate as he was a national hero. after his retirement from boxing £3000 was raised by fans enabling him to live out his life finacially secure. the dog on the tomb was his pet and 'chief mourner' at his funeral.
