Highgate Cemetery 5

Highgate Cemetery is a facinating place and i enjoyed my tour. I was tempted to wander off and explore for myself and see what else was to be discovered?
The guide pointed out that much of the grandeur described in the tombs described the affluent nature of many of those interred within the cemetery. According to the guide it was customary to note the deceased address on their grave to display what a Toff they had been in life and the austentatiousness of their final resting place similarly described what a high roller they remained. Tony Blair would love it here, any bets he has a spot reserved?

After leaving the cemetery I wandered through the neighbouring and wonderful Waterlow Park. I then set out on a six or so mile walk accross town to Bethnal Green to see the equally wonderful Viv Albertine play at the Sebright Arms, great show!!
