Having wanted to visit Mudchute Farm for some time I took the advent of a party in Shoreditch as an excuse to head East and partake in a voyage on the Docklands Light Railway down through the Isle of Dogs to the self proclaimed 'Londons biggest Urban Farm.'
The Isle of Dogs is a place I have visited on a few occasions. The last such visit was to see the
Greenpeace flagship Rainbow Warrior, which was docked there several years ago. Interestingly the Ship was once again moored on the Isle of Dogs recently and I read that Paul Simonon of the Clash and more (see Kensal Green Cemetery pages), was to join up as a crew member only to be busted in Greenland boarding Oil Rigs.
On other visits I just went to look at Canary Wharf, travel the DLR and walk the Greenwich foot tunnel under the Thames.
All my trips have been affected by the otherworldly strangeness of the Isle of Dogs and this most recent visit reinforced that feeling.
